The landscaping project on this site was designed and executed in conjunction with the Project Architect—Bayejid Mahbub Khondoker of Nakshabid Architects—with the following intentions: to complement the structure and circulation of the premise, to create a green patch to contrast with the urban hue of the surrounding area, and to utilize native flora to build a sanctuary for a diverse range of fauna.
Since the project is located in the proximity of a highly secured area, we had to be meticulous in selecting the plant variants that are local and low maintenance and would not jeopardize the safeguarding measures of the location. The landscaping project aims to enhance the museum's aesthetic appeal, showcasing the country's rich military history and creating an inviting and harmonious environment for visitors.
The garden areas surrounding the museum feature a variety of plants and flowers, including native species that are well-suited to the local climate. The regimental design of the garden creates a peaceful and serene ambiance, providing visitors with a place to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of the surrounding area while depicting the essence of discipline that represents the Bangladeshi Military Forces.
